Maverick Currencies is hiring a Proprietary Trader based in Annapolis, MD. This is a remote, performance-based opportunity we fund qualified US traders with up to $400,000 in firm capital and split profits 60% to 90% depending on performance tier.
Trading from Annapolis has a structural advantage that's easy to underrate. Eastern time aligns you directly with the New York open and the London close, so the high-volume hours of the FX day land in your morning instead of fighting your evening. For traders building a long-term career, that kind of stable daily rhythm compounds.
Maryland's Eastern time zone position aligns Baltimore, Frederick, Rockville, and Gaithersburg traders with the NY/London overlap. With proximity to DC's financial regulatory infrastructure, Maryland traders also have an unusual depth of in-person networking available.
This role pays through profit-share, not salary. You trade firm capital and keep 60% to 90% of the returns you generate, based on your performance tier. Consistently profitable traders typically realize $50,000 to $200,000+ annually. The trade-off is explicit: there is no salary floor. If you are not profitable, you do not earn the upside is that profitable traders are not capped.
Q: Is this work-from-home or hybrid?
A: It's fully remote. There is no office to come into, no required in-person time, and no geographic limits beyond being US-based. Plenty of our traders have never met the team in person the work doesn't require it.
Q: What happens if I have a losing month?
A: Losing months happen to every trader, including the consistently profitable ones. Within the firm's risk framework you have room to recover; outside of it (i.e., if you blow risk rules) the account is paused for review. Discipline is what preserves the relationship.
